Here is a beautiful maple eating spoon with decoration etched on the handle. The etching process is called kolrosing, which was popular in the Scandinavian countries. Small incisions are made with a knife and then finely ground coffee is rubbed into the incisions. The coffee is cleaned away and the design is permanently part of the spoon. This spoon is perfect for soups with a big bowl and a long handle. A perfect and unique gift for anyone that loves wood and appreciates woodworking!

Spoon measures approximately 8” long. Made from maple wood.

All my spoons are made by using traditional spoon making methods. Starting with fresh wood, I use nothing but ax, draw knife, straight knife and hook knife. Since no saws are used, the wood is cut with the fibers of the wood, making a much stronger spoon and gives a smooth knife surface. The spoons are never sanded, so small imperfections and knife marks are part of the reason each is one of a kind. A paste of beeswax, mineral oil and walnut oil is applied then each spoon is burnished with a deer antler to a hard smooth finish. Each of my spoons are one of a kind unique and are heirloom quality guaranteed to last a lifetime!

Spoon care:
DO NOT wash the spoon in the dishwasher. Hand washing only!

Apply mineral or walnut oil to the spoon every few months to restore its original shine
